MLUWC PETITION TO NATIONAL ASSEMBLY RE SUPPORTING YOUNG  PEOPLE LEAVING FOSTER CARE AT AGE 18

The petition will remain online for three months.  MNA Gregory Kelley will then table it in the National Assembly, and it will go to a Parliamentary committee, which will decide whether to address it.  ​


The MLUWC is organizing a gift card drive for CARE Jeunesse.

When a child in foster care turns 18, he or she is left on their own to face their new life challenges. CARE Jeunesse is here to support them in this transition, and for the future.

At the age of 18, foster children leave their group or foster home, and they must pack their belongings in garbage bags. The MLWUC wants these young adults to make this transition with dignity by donating suitcases to CARE Jeunesse. This will give the teenagers a much-needed boost to start their new life.

You can help make this transition easier for them by dropping off your gift cards to the MLUWC.
